About the LVO
The London Vegetable Orchestra (LVO) is the UK's only ensemble offering audiences ‘Home Grown’ entertainment. The instruments are made up of hand-crafted local produce, and they sound as incredible as they look! The orchestra formed more than ten years ago while studying at the Royal Academy of Music, and all members are working as professional musicians in the UK.
The orchestra features a mouth-watering selection of courgettes, squashes, peppers and butternut squash accompanying a soaring line-up of carrot recorders which are made by our resident recorder-making superstar, Tim Cranmore.
The group has appeared many times on national TV including, Room 101, CBBC’s The Slammer, James Martin’s Saturday Morning, Let’s Do Lunch WIth Gino and Mel, and most recently performing with Gary Barlow on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.
They have collaborated with Mika, and appeared in an advertising project for LG celebrating the release of their new Linear Fridge, which reached 40 Million hits worldwide.
The LVO have performed across the UK and around the world! Their work has included private events, educational and instrument crafting workshops, advertising campaigns, and of course performances.
